Marissa Pettit, CNP, OCN
Marissa Pettit CNP grew up as an Albuquerque native, she cultivated her love for the medical field as a child visiting Presbyterian Hospital where her grandfather practiced as an obstetrician/gynecologist. Marissa completed her undergraduate studies in 2007 at the University of New Mexico, obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. She found her true passion for oncology while working as a nurse on the Adult Inpatient Oncology Unit at the University of New Mexico Hospital and obtained her OCN (oncology certified nurse) designation in 2010. Marissa’s desire to further her knowledge and as a more active role in patient care drove her to obtain her Master of Science degree in Nursing at the University of New Mexico in 2013. Marissa joined the Inpatient Hematology Oncology service at UNM Hospital as a nurse practitioner in 2014, caring for acutely ill oncology patients until 2018.
Marissa Pettit, CNP, OCN joined Dr. Vigil in September 2018, adding an additional provider to his medical oncology team. Marissa is passionate about taking a holistic approach to the oncology patient, focusing on caring for the mind, body, and spirit. “Oncology patients continue to inspire me with their grace and strength as they progress through their treatments.”
“Outside of work, I enjoy baking, traveling, exercising, and spending time with friends, family, my husband and our three kitties.”
